Critical Care Ultrasound and Echocardiography Summit
Please book early, as the resort hotel fills up. If cost is an issue, please email the group to see if you want to go in together on a VRBO/AirBnB or shared hotel room. The conference is at the The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, and there aren’t many other nearby options. If you are looking to stay in the Salt Lake Valley, be aware that if there is heavy snow, the road to Snowbird can sometimes take 40-60 minutes travel, or may be temporarily closed for avalanche clearance. I suggest the Courtyard Marriott as the nearest hotel in the Salt Lake area, but anywhere in the Salt Lake area is probably equivalent.
The Lodge at Snowbird (0.3 miles away)
The Inn at Snowbird (0.4 miles away, individually owned, sometimes rented through VRBO)
The Iron Blosam Lodge (0.5 miles away, timeshares, sometimes rented through VRBO)
The Cliff Club (at Headquarters Hotel, luxury Condominiums)
Courtyard Salt Lake City Cottonwood by Marriott (10 miles away, mouth of the Canyon. If you decide to stay in the valley, any hotel would be equally adequate)
If you stay at another hotel, you don’t need to bring your skis every single day. You can store your skis and poles at the Cliff. After the 9:00 talk is done, we will throw on our boots and whatever necessary gear, and leave stuff in the conference room, then go network for several hours). Return back, check in your skis and change back for the afternoon talks. If you are staying at Alta or in the Salt Lake City area, you can ride the bus up to the resort, which will allow you to bring gear.
There is a public bus that offers transportation up and down the canyon. There are shuttles between Alta and Snowbird. You can uber to the resort from the SLC airport. If you drive or rent a car, please get 4WD or AWD. You will not be allowed up the canyon without 4WD/AWD or snowtires/chains. If you stay at Snowbird, you will have parking. If not, there is free parking, but it is first-come first-served and valet. Carpooling is also given preference. Our dinner will be on-site, Wednesday evening.
